Hello there! I am Beatrice Tan, a board certified general pediatrician and a sleep training consultant. I have been a licensed physician since 2019 and my life previously revolved around hospital duties, patient rounds, and clinic consultations. All this took a pause when I gave birth to my daughter in 2023. During my maternity leave, I first-handedly experienced frequent night wakings, early morning starts, sleepless nights, and just sheer exhaustion from lack of sleep. I remember thinking that no one ever prepared or warned me for this! As someone who went on 36-hour duties in the hospital, I was having a harder time caring for my infant daughter. At this point I started researching and turned to sleep training. After a few days of adjusting her sleep schedule and establishing healthy sleep habits, I had my first 6-hour stretch of sleep. I was beyond the moon! After a few weeks of consistency, my daughter learned to self-soothe and slept independently. After which, I have been very interested in sleep training and the science behind it so I finished a Sleep Consultant certification course, from the IPSP (Institute of Pediatrics Sleep and Parenting), an international Industry-Leading Education in Pediatric Sleep and Parenting.
