── About Me

Hi! I'm Mellesa Goalen, BSW, RSW, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Certified Special Needs Sleep Consultant, and Certified Potty Training Consultant. I'm passionate about helping families navigate sleep and developmental challenges with compassionate, evidence-based support that is gentle, holistic, trauma-informed, and attachment-based.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work because I've always been passionate about supporting children and families. My background as a Registered Social Worker has given me a strong understanding of child development, attachment, emotional regulation, mental health, and family dynamics. I recognize that a child's sleep and development are deeply connected to the emotional well-being of the entire family, and I strive to provide not only practical, evidence-based strategies but also compassionate emotional and social support that helps parents feel seen, understood, and empowered throughout their journey.

I completed my Pediatric Sleep Consultant certification through Little Dandelion Sleep Consulting and later expanded my knowledge by completing certifications in Special Needs Sleep Support and Potty Training through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting. These additional certifications have strengthened my ability to support children with diverse developmental, sensory, and behavioral needs while helping families feel confident and empowered.

As both a professional and a mom of two, I understand firsthand that every child is wonderfully unique. My first child was my little FOMO baby, she always wanted to be part of everything and never wanted to miss a moment, making sleep particularly challenging. My second child had her own complex journey, including reflux, cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA), and a highly sensitive temperament that often led to overstimulation and sleep difficulties. These very different experiences deepened my appreciation that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to supporting children. They inspired me to pursue this work so I could provide other families with the compassionate guidance, reassurance, and practical support.

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sleep or potty training. Every child is unique, and every family deserves an individualized plan that aligns with their parenting values, meets them where they are, and supports their child's unique needs. My goal is to help families create sustainable routines, strengthen connection, and build confidence while making the process feel supportive, not stressful.

I'm honored to be part of your family's journey, whether we're working toward more restful sleep, a positive potty training experience, or simply creating routines that bring more confidence, connection, and joy into everyday life.
