My name is Rachel Simpson. I want to help you and your little ones have a great potty-training experience. I know it can seem like a hard process. There are some things you can do to make it all go more smoothly. I have gained experience in potty training from my education and work in childcare. I am a Certified Potty-Training Consultant and I also have my level 2 in Early Childhood Education. Prior to that, I babysat regularly starting at the age of 12. In my 20’s I started working at a daycare and spent most of my time working there in the baby and toddler rooms. I wanted to work with children right from when I started babysitting. Before I started babysitting, I remember playing at the park and helping the little kids to reach the monkey bars or catching them on the slide. Looking back, even then I wanted to work with children but was not old enough. I was first introduced to potty training while babysitting. Sometimes there were children in pull-ups who needed to use the potty. At the time I had no idea of the challenges that came with it. When I started working in a daycare in 2017, I started in the ‘preschool’ room. Then in 2018 I got switched to the toddler and baby rooms. Here is where I gained a lot of experience in helping children and parents with their potty-training journeys. Many of the children in our care were learning to use the potty. And I was often asked questions on how to start or what to do when children had accidents. And my co-workers and I were asking those questions as well. This helped me develop a passion to help parents make the whole process easier. I completed my level 2 in early childhood education and through that I gained some knowledge about potty training. Through the interactions I had with parents I began to learn how challenging it can be to potty train. Which made me wonder if there was a way that I could help more parents out. Which is why I became a certified potty-training consultant. I want to help you train your child to be confident with using the potty. And I want to support you through the process.
