Someone recently told me that they believe the thing you were “meant” to do, often comes to you in an unexpected way. If I think back to where I was 15 years ago, I guess I could say that’s true! Back then, I was on the path to become a PA. I chose that career because I wanted to combine my interest in health and science with my passion to work with kids. Little did I know, I would soon find a career that added another passion… sleep! Come on, who doesn’t love sleep? The road to where I am now starts about 10 years ago, when I doing overnight care for newborns. I came across a book about infant sleep in a client’s home. I read that book over a series of nights, and really got into the science of it all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fast forward to when I was pregnant with my son. I read that book again, plus a few more. By the time he was born, I had a lot of information and experience at my disposal- experience with overnight newborn care, an overwhelming amount of information from those books, plus my background in Neonatal and Pediatric medicine. I used this unique combination of knowledge to put good sleep habits in place, from the time Jonah was just a few days old. He naturally slept through the night when he was ready. I went back to work after my maternity leave and it was more apparent to me than ever, parents are DESPERATE for sleep! Every parent I spoke with seemed to have some sort of sleep problem with their child. With that as motivation, I became a certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and Leave the Rest to Me was born! For expecting parents and parents of newborns, I have a Newborn Sleep Guide and provide 1:1 support. For parents of children ages 4 months through 4 years, I provide personalized sleep plans and 1:1 support. I believe that every parent and child deserves rest, and create plans based on your child's personality, parenting style, and family needs.
