Affiliate Marketing: Earning Commission on Recommendations
This is a great (and low-effort!) way that many sleep consultants make extra money. How often do you find yourself recommending products to parents or friends or other consultants?
All. The. Time.
Why not earn a commission for these recommendations?
Affiliate marketing can serve as a great side income, providing you with a commission for your favorite baby products that you’re already advocating for.
It’s a win-win; your clients get the best product recommendations, and you earn extra for your endorsements.
There are many different platforms, such as Shareasale.com, Impact.com, and, of course the most popular, Amazon.
Here’s how easy it is to become an Amazon Affiliate:
1. Visit the Amazon Associates Website Go to https://affiliate-program.amazon.com
2. Create an Account: Click on “Sign Up.” If you already have an Amazon account, you can use that to sign in. If not, create a new account.
3. Enter Required Information: Follow the prompts to enter all necessary information, including your account details and website information.
4. Choose Your Payment Method: Select how you would like to receive your payments. Options include direct deposit, Amazon gift card, or check.
5. Verify Your Identity: Complete the identity verification process, which may include a phone call for verification.
That’s it! Once you complete these steps, you’ll be on your way to becoming an Amazon affiliate and can share links to your favorite baby products.
Diversify Your Services
Expanding your services to include additional areas of expertise is a strategic way to grow your business and expand your knowledge.
I can’t tell you how many sleep-training clients I’ve had who eventually turned into potty-training clients (because, duh, babies grow!).
You KNOW your clients will eventually need this additional service, so it’s a perfect area of expertise to get specialized in. Then, you can add it to your service offerings and make more income without looking for brand new clients.

If you’re particularly knowledgeable in a certain area, you could create a DIY e-guide on that topic and sell it as a low-ticket offer. By promoting your e-guide through ads and following up with an upsell email sequence, you can point those leads towards your sleep packages, creating a dual revenue stream.
You can create passive income through the sale of your e-guide (or whatever asset you create), but it will position your more expensive services as the logical next step for your clients, boosting your sleep package sales significantly.
