Do You Really Need a Sleep Consultant Certificate?

In a word: yes. A certificate shows clients that you are qualified to work with infants and young children in this field.

Never practice baby sleep consulting without a certificate of completion of 150-180 hours of field-related study.

Sleep Consultant Tuition Costs

Of course, if you’re reading this article, you’re wondering what your baby sleep tuition costs. To understand this, you need to know that your education must result in a certificate from a qualified school in order for you to practice safely.

U.S.-based or Canada-based online programs should cost you between $3000 and $5000 for a full course that includes:

  • Educated and accredited instructors, including MDs and RNs/LDNs
  • Instructors with additional certification (such as special needs certification, OCT, etc.)
  • Attorneys who are up-to-date on intellectual property law
  • A COMPLETE course roster (usually totaling 120 hours)
  • Accessibility to faculty: email, text or Zoom
  • A clear breakdown of exactly what the course will include

Why Are Some Sleep Tuition Consultant Costs So Low?

NOTE: Beware of online sleep consultant certificate scams. If you come across a “school” that is offering you a certified infant sleep certificate for well under $2500-3000, chances are you’re not getting a real school.

Instead, such “schools” tend to pull information off the internet and arrange it in modules for you to read by yourself. (Yes, that’s plagiarism.) In this case, you are NOT getting a complete, up-to-date course, and the course may not follow current legal rules for what to do and what not to do as a certified sleep consultant. Also, schools this “cheap” often lack instructors; instructors cost money.

Why Are Some Sleep Consultant Tuition Costs So High?

At the other end of things, some programs cost $10,000 or even more. Make sure you get complete information on the course. If it’s set in beautiful Nassau, where you have to fly yourself, but is three days and only offers the very basics, you are not getting a complete baby sleep certificate course.

Your best option is to stick within the $3500-5000 range, then…
