About Me
I earned my Master’s Degree in Education specializing in early childhood special education. I have been working with the Illinois Early Intervention Program since 2011. I started out working as a Service Coordinator and since 2015 I have been working in the program and a Developmental Therapist.
In 2020, my husband and I welcomed our son. Unfortunately, I did not do any research on a baby’s sleep habits before he was born. I just thought, “Baby’s just eat, sleep and poop. How hard can it be?” Turns out, really hard! His lack of sleep was so hard on us and I felt as though I was failing him. Looking back now, I realize that part of his sleep troubles were because he wasn’t receiving enough nutrition and also I was not following appropriate wake windows.
We have worked hard on his sleep by creating a schedule, following his cues, making adjustments as his grows, and also being consistent. I am very happy to say that our son is able to put himself to sleep independently and without crying it out! I have learned so much from enrolling in the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and through this program I have earned the certifications of: Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Newborn Sleep Consultant, Potty Training Consultant, and Baby Sign Language Educator.
